ABOUT US
Sports U is located in Slidell, Louisiana. We believe that everyone is an athlete, and our training reflects that. Our goal is to shift the mainstream fitness paradigm--one that centers itself around buzzwords and fads rather than science. We don't run people through drills because it looks cool. There's reason behind everything that we do, and we believe in educating our students as to why we're doing it. Stop to see our facility and meet the team.
THE MISSION
To exceed beyond expectations in proving the latest scientifically backed training.
THE VISION
We will coach and mentor our students to understand, upgrade, reach and sustain their ultimate potential.
THE FACILITY
Slidell's Largest Indoor Turf Field
Our 15,000 square foot facility is a place for everyone to experience the joys of sport and competition as well as receive the best performance training available in Slidell. The complex includes a state-of-the-art weight room and indoor turf field.
WEIGHT ROOM
Functional Training
We believe that if you train only muscles, you won't remember movement. But if you train movement, your body will remember muscles. All our training equipment is functional, meaning that it's designed to improve the human movement system instead of individual muscles. Kettle bells, Sleds, Med-balls, bands, plyo-boxes, hurdles, and free-weights are samples of what you'll find in here.
THE FOUR PILLARS
The philosophy we believe in.
Mindset, nutrition, movement and regeneration—regardless of your position or profession, building these four pillars will allow you to have sustainable high performance.
MINDSET
Thoughts become reality. Both good and bad. Outlooks often determine outcomes.
NUTRITION
Whatever we put in our mouths eventually ends up as part of us, right down to the cellular level.
MOVEMENT
We're all human. All humans move. Therefore we should all train to move in the most efficient way possible.
REGENERATION
Training Stimulates. Rest regenerates. The body can't rebuild while under distress.
INJURY RESILIENCY
No one cares about injury prevention until they've experienced an injury.
Most athletes want to get bigger, stronger and faster, but what good is a race car that's sitting in the repair shop? Take action now to substantially reduce the risk of injury by enrolling into a proper training program that prioritizes injury prevention as much as it does athletic performance. It's our number one priority as coaches.
